## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ACFT CRASHED UNDER UNKNOWN CIRCUM DURING AERIAL APPLICATION.(.4) THE PILOT SAID THAT HE `FORCED' THE TURN WHEN TRYING TO LINE UP FOR AN AERIAL APPLICATION SWATCH RUN. HE SAID THAT THE AIRPLANE STALLED, HE RECOVERED ONCE, BUT STALLED A SECOND TIME WHEN HE ATTEMPTED TO LIFT THE NOSE TO AVOID IMPACT WITH THE TERRAIN. THE PILOT DID NOT INDICATE ANY MECHANICAL ANOMALIES IN THE OPERATION OF THE AIRPLANE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CHI98LA223](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CHI98LA223), Jun 26, 1998: Rockwell S2-R (N5682X), Williams, MN, substantial damage. Probable cause: the pilot's failure to maintain adequate airspeed which resulted in an inadvertent stall.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
