## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

TRIED T OABORT LONG LANDING ON UPHILL RUNWAY. STRUCK PERIMETER FENCE. FLAPS FULL DOWN. (.4)WHILE PERFORMING TOUCH-AND-GO LANDINGS ON THE 1,100 FOOT GRAVEL AIRSTRIP, THE PILOT LANDED LONG, AND DID NOT LIFT OFF AGAIN UNTIL HE WAS NEAR THE DEPARTURE END OF THE RUNWAY. AFTER LIFTOFF, THE PILOT ATTEMPTED TO GET THE AIRCRAFT TO CLIMB FAST ENOUGH TO MISS THE FENCE JUST OFF THE END OF THE RUNWAY. THE DENSITY ALTITUDE WAS 7,800 FEET.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB SEA98LA112](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/SEA98LA112), Jun 28, 1998: Aviat Husky A-1 (N7XJ), Triple R Ranch, MT, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's misjudgment of distance and his failure to initiate a go-around. A factor was the high density altitude.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
