## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(.4) THE PILOT TOLD TWO FAA INSPECTORS THAT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO LAND IN FIVE KNOTS OF WIND, THE AIRPLANE TOUCHED DOWN SHORT OF THE INTENDED OFF AIRPORT LANDING SITE. THE LEFT WING DRAGGED INTO TALL BRUSH, AND THE AIRPLANE NOSED OVER. (-23) AIRMAN STATED THAT HE MISJUDGED HIS TOUCHDOWN POINT, LANDING SHORT, AND THE LEFT WING TIP CAUGHT IN THE BRUSH CAUSING THE AIRCRAFT TO DEPART THE LEFT SIDE OF THE LANDING AREA AND NOSE OVER, UPSIDE DOWN.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

Probable cause: The pilot's failure to attain the proper touchdown point. A factor associated with this accident was the high brush at the approach end of the landing area.

Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
