## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ACFT EXPERIENCED ENGINE FAILURE AND COULD NOT GLIDE TO AIRPORT, ACFT CRAHSED UNDER UNKN CIRCUMSTANCES RESULTING IN SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE. (-23) PILOT STATED THAT HE WAS FLYING ABOUT 10,000 FEET WESTBOUND WHEN HIS AIRCRAFT ENGINE STARTED RUNNING ROUGH. SHORTLY AFTERWARDS IT WAS RUNNING VERY ROUGH AND HE SAID HE COULD SEE OIL ON THE WINDSHIELD. AT THIS TIME THE PILOT TURNED OFF THE ENGINE AND TRIED TO FIND A PLACE TO LAND. UPON TRYING TO LAND ON RUSSELL ROAD (HEADING SOUTH), THE PILOT STATED THAT HE BOUNCED UPON LANDING. THE PILOT THEN WAS HEADING A LITTLE TO THE WEST AND HAD A CAR COMING HEAD-ON SO HE PUSHED HARD LEFT RUDDER PEDAL AND RAN OFF THE ROAD. THE AIRCRAFT RESTED ON THE EAST SIDE OF RUSSELL ROAD, NORTH OF MUSKEGON, JUST NORTH OF US 31.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
