## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-5)ON JULY 30, 1998, WHILE ENROUTE TO GREEN BAY, WI, A PIPER PA46-301P AIRCRAFT, PILOT BY JAMES O. SHOEMAKER, EXPERIENCED A DROP IN THE AIRCRAFT'S EDM 700 TEMPERATURE INDICATING SYSTEM. THE INSTRUMENT RATED PRIVATE PILOT ELECTED TO MAKE A PRECAUTIONARY LANDING AT MOLINE, IL. NO DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT, NO FIRE, NO INJURIES. INVESTIGATION REVEALED A LOOSE CONNECTION ON NUMBER 4 CYLINDER TEMPERATURE PROBE CAUSED THE ERRONEOUS READING.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
