## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT WAS ON FINAL APPROACH TO LA24 AT APPROXIMATELY A 50-FOOT ALTITUDE. THE AIRPORT MANAGER ADVISED THE PILOT OF THE WINDS. THE PILOT STATED THAT HE WOULD GO AROUND AND MAKE ANOTHER APPROACH. THE PILOT STOPPED HIS DESCENT AND FLEW DOWN THE CENTER OF THE RUNWAY. HOWEVER, HE DID NOT ADD POWER AND IMPACTED TREES AT ONE-QUARTER MILE OFF OF THE END OF THE RUNWAY. INVESTIGATION DID NOT REVEAL ANY MECHANICAL DIFFICULTIES WITH THE AIRFRAME OR ENGINE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB FTW98FA338](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/FTW98FA338), Jul 31, 1998: Cessna 210M (N732PB), Leesville, LA, destroyed, 3 fatal. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to establish a climb during a night go-around. Factors were the lack of visual cues available to the pilot and the dark night illumination.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
