WHEN THE AIRCRAFT CLEARED THE RUNWAY TO THE LEFT I REDUCED POWER AND THE RIGHT WING FELL AND THE AIRCRAFT SLID TO A STOP." THE LANDING WAS MADE ON RUNWAY 04 (7,097' X 150'). INSPECTION OF THE AIRPLANE REVEALED THE RIGHT MAIN LANDING GEAR COLLAPSED FOR UNDETERMINED REASONS. THE AIRCRAFT WENT TO THE LEFT AND CLEARED THE RUNWAY. HE THEN REDUCED POWER. AS THE RIGHT WING CONTACTED THE GROUND, THE AIRCRAFT SLID TO A STOP ON THE RIGHT WING, LEFT MAIN GEAR, AND TAIL WHEEL.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CHI98LA295](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CHI98LA295), Aug 2, 1998: North American SNJ-6B (N7983C), Quincy, IL, substantial damage. Probable cause: the right main landing gear collapsed for undetermined reasons.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System.
