## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-5) THE PILOT, DONALD L. PFEIFFER, LANDED AT JACKPOT, NV., ABOUT 0900 LOCAL TIME, 08/21/98. THE WEATHER CONDITIONS AT THE TIME WERE 40 DEGREES AND ABOUT 15 KNOT CROSSWIND. THE AIRCRAFT TOUCHED DOWN THEN BOUNCED INTO THE AIR AND BANKED LEFT. THE PILOT LEVELED THE WINGS AND ATTEMPTED TO GO AROUND BUT CAME DOWN ON THE EDGE OF THE RUNWAY. THE AIRCRAFT LEFT THE RUNWAY AND GROUND LOOPED IN SOFT DIRT AND GRASS. THE RIGHT MAIN GEAR LEG WAS BENT AND THE WHEEL FAIRINGS WERE DAMAGED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
