## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-5)ON AUGUST 26, 1998, AT APPROXIMATELY 0900 EST, N919 EXPERIENCED A HARD LANDING WHILE ATTEMPTING A LANDING ON SNOW LAKE, NEAR ANGOLA, INDIANA. THE HOME BUILT SEAPLANE CONTACTED THE WATER, ACCORDING TO THE PILOT, WITH A NOSE TOO LOW. WATER CAME UP OVER THE NOSE BREAKING THE WINDSHIELD. THE PILOT IN COMMAND, AND ONLY OCCUPANT, MR. ANKENBRUCK REPORTED NO MECHANICAL IRREGULARITIES AND WEATHER WAS NOT A FACTOR. THE NOSE AND WINDSHIELD OF THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGES.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
