## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE ACRAFT FLOATED DURING LANDING FLARE AND TOUCHED DOWN OVER HALF THE WAY DOWN THE 3,700 FOOT RUNWAY. THE PILOT INITIATED A GO-AROUND, BUT ABORTED WHEN HE REALIZED THE AIRCRAFT WOULD NOT CLEAR TREES AND TELEPHONE WIRES AT THE END OF THE RUNWAY. THE AIRCRAFT COULD NOT BE STOPPED ON THE REMAINING RUNWAY AND COLLIDED WITH A DIRT BANK AND NOSED AFTER OVERRUNNING THE RUNWAY. (-23) PILOT STATED: HIGH DENSITY ALTITUDE - OVERSHOT TOUCH & GO - PLANE WOULD NOT CLIMB. ABORTED - RAN OUT OF RUNWAY - HIT SMALL MOUND, FLIPPED OVER ON ITS BACK.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB MIA98LA233](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/MIA98LA233), Aug 30, 1998: Cessna 172F (N7832U), Spring Hill, FL, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's misjudgment of distance and his delay in initiating a go around. Contributing was the pilot's improper landing flare.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
