## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-5) PILOT FLEW PLANE TO HERRON AIRPORT (7GI) TO PRACTICE SHORT FIELD LANDINGS. HERRON IS HARD SURFACE 2000' RW - LIGHTS ONLY ON SE SIDE AND A COUNTY ROAD RUNNING THROUGH THE CENTER OF THE RUNWAY. LANDED ON RUNWAY 22 WITHOUT INCIDENT GOING TO THE CENTER OF THE RUNWAY. ANOTHER AIRCRAFT LEFT THE RUN-UP AREA AND WAS HOLDING ON RUNWAY 22 READY FOR TAKE-OFF. PILOT ANNOUNCED ALL INTENTIONS TO THE TRAFFIC BUT RECEIVED NO RESPONSE. RATHER THAN DO A 180 DEGREE TURN WITH THE OTHER PILOT IN TAKE-OFF POSITION, HE WENT TO THE RIGHT BETWEEN THE COUNTY ROAD AND THE RUNWAY INTO THE GRASS TAXIWAY. PROP HIT DIRT WHEN WHEEL LEFT RUNWAY.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
