## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-5) PILOT AND HIS WIFE TOOK OFF FROM MILTON FLORIDA, 2R4, ON A PLEASURE FLIGHT. PILOT STATED HE HAD A GENERATOR FAILURE AND ATTEMPTED TO RESET IT. IT WORKED MOMENTARILY AND SUBSEQUENTLY FAILED AGAIN. HE ATTEMPTED TO LOWER THE GEAR BUT IT DID NOT WORK. HE USED THE EMERGENCY GEAR EXTENSION PROCEDURE AND THE GEAR CAME DOWN BUT DID NOT LOCK IN THE DOWN POSITION. PILOT MADE A LOW PASS AND REQUESTED CRESTVIEW UNICORN PERSONNEL TO VERIFY WHETHER OR NOT HE HAD EXTENDED LANDING GEAR. BOB KELLAR, AT THE FBO IN CRESTVIEW, SAID HE OBSERVED THE AIRCRAFT WITH PARTIAL GEAR EXTENSION AND NOTIFIED THE PILOT BY RADIO THAT HIS GEAR WAS ONLY PARTIALLY EXTENDED. SINCE N55265 HAD A COMPLETE ELECTRICAL FAILURE THE PILOT NEITHER HEARD OR ACKNOWLEDGED HIS TRANSMISSION. THE PILOT ATTEMPTED A LANDING AND THE GEAR COLLAPSED RESULTING IN MINOR AIRCRAFT DAMAGE AND NO INJURIES.

Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
