## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-5)THE PILOT WAS ASSIGNED A FLIGHT TO PICK UP THREE PASSENGERS FROM SM-273 (GOM). THE REPORTED CLEARANCE WAS REPORTED AS BEING 30 FEET AND AFTER TWO RECON PASSES, THE PILOT LANDED HARD ON THE DECK AND, UNKNOWN TO THE PILOT, APPARENTLY HAD A MAIN ROTOR BLADE STRIKE WITH THE PLATFORM'S LAID DOWN DERRICK. THE PILOT DEPARTED WITH HIS PASSENGERS AND UPON ARRIVAL AND SHUTDOWN, NOTICED THE DEFORMATION OF THE MAIN ROTOR BLADE TIPS IN THE SWEPT PORTION OF THE TIP AREA.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
