## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT WAS DESTROYED DURING EMERGENCY LANDING WHICH FOLLOWED A POWER FAILURE. PILOT SUSTAINED SERIOUS INJURIES. PILOT REPORTED THAT ENGINE WAS SECURED FOLLOWING LOUD BANG WITH VERY STRONG VIBRATIONS. INVESTIGATION AT ACCIDENT SCENE BY NTSB INVESTIGATOR MR. NORMAN WIEMEYER, WAS UNABLE TO LOCATE 18 INCH PIECE OF ONE PROPELLER BLADE. AIRCRAFT ENGINE WAS ANALYZED BY LYCOMING, FAA, NTSB DURING "TEAR DOWN" PROCEDURES AND WAS FOUND TO BE OPERATIONAL. ANALYSIS OF PROPELLER REVEALED SECTION MISSING. BLADE DAMAGE WAS NOT A RESULT OF IMPACT DAMAGE. ALL INVESTIGATORS AGREE THAT STRESS FRACTURE APPARENTLY CAUSED PORTION OF PROPELLER TO DEPART CAUSING RESULT IN POWER LOSS AND SUBSEQUENT CRASH DURING EMERGENCY LANDING.
