## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-5)THE DUAL FLIGHT DEPARTED APPROX. 1300 LOCAL. THE FLIGHT FIRST WENT TO A PRACTICE AREA, MANEUVERS WERE PERFORMED, AND THE AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO THE AIRPORT FOR TAKEOFF AND LANDING PRACTICE. THE FIRST LANDING WAS WITHOUT INCIDENT. FOLLOWING THE TAKE-OFF, THE INSTRUCTOR SIMULATED A FAILURE OF THE RIGHT ENGINE BY RETARDING THE THROTTLE, AND THE AIRCRAFT WAS FLOWN AROUND THE PATTERN FOR A SINGLE-ENGINE APPROACH AND LANDING. THE LANDING FLARE WAS INITIATED AT A HIGHER-THAN-NORMAL ALTITUDE AND THE AIRCRAFT DEVELOPED A HIGH SINK RATE AS POWER WAS REDUCED. THE AIRPLANE IMPACTED THE RUNWAY ON THE RIGHT MAIN GEAR, BOUNCED TO THE LEFT MAIN GEAR, STRIKING THE LEFT PROPELLER WITH THE RUNWAY SURFACE. DAMAGE WAS NOTICED AFTER TAXIING TO PARKING AND THE AIRCRAFT WAS SHUT DOWN.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
