## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23)THE AIRCRAFT LANDING GEAR COLLAPSED UPON LANDING ON RUNWAY 9R AT OPA LOCKA AIRPORT. THE GEAR HANDLE WAS INSPECTED AND THE LOCKING SPRING OPERATED PROPERLY. THE GEAR DOWN LOCK SWITCH AND ASSOCIATED LIGHTS WERE INSPECTED AND FOUND TO BE OPERATING CORRECTLY. THE 100 HOUR INSPECTION OF THE LANDING GEAR WAS VERIFIED AND DOCUMENTED PROPERLY. IN CONCLUSTION, THE FAILURE OF THE PILOT IN COMMAND TO PROPERLY INSURE THAT THE LANDING GEAR HANDLE WAS LOCKED IN DOWN POSITION. THE PILOT IN COMMAND SHOULD HAVE VERIFIED THAT THE MECHANICAL LOCK ON THE LANDING HANDLE WAS SECURELEY ENGAGED. *NOTE: MECHANICAL LOCK IS INCORPORATED IN THE MANUAL LANDING GEAR HANDLE LOCATED IN THE COCKPIT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
