## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-5) MR. UPTON WAS PERFORMING A "COMEDY" ACT IN WHICH HE WAS IN CONTACT WITH THE AIRBOSS AND WAS SIMULATING THAT THE AIRBOSS HAD CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT. HE DEPARTED RUNWAY 20 AND CLIMBED APPROX. 300 FEET AGL WHEN HE MADE A POWER REDUCTION TO APPROX. IDLE. HE NOSED THE AIRCRAFT OVER, DESCENDED APPROX. 100 FEET AND ADDED FULL POWER TO INITIATE A RECOVERY. MR. UPTON STATED THAT WHEN HE ADDED POWER HE FELT THE AIRCRAFT BUFFET AND WAS RELUCTANT TO LOWER THE NOSE. HE BELIEVED THE LANDING GEAR WAS LOWERED, AS HE ALWAYS LEAVES IT EXTENDED FOR THIS PORTION OF THE ACT. THE AIRCRAFT CONTACTED THE RUNWAY IN A LEVEL FLIGHT ATTITUDE AT FULL POWER, BECAME AIRBORNE FOR APPROX. 1200 FEET BEFORE LANDING AND COMING TO A REST APPROX. 1500 FEET FROM THE INITIAL IMPACT SITE. MR. UPTON EGRESSED THE AIRCRAFT WITHOUT INCIDENT AND AFTER SECURING THE AIRCRAFT'S SYSTEMS AND PHOTOGRAPHING THE SCENE, THE AIRCRAFT WAS RAISED, THE GEAR EXTENDED AND IT WAS TOWED TO MACAIR AVIATION.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
