## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON OCTOBER 6, 1998, HELICOPTER N6077H, WHILE CONDUCTING A TOUR UNDER FAR PART 135, MADE AN EMERGENCY LANDING AT THE HALEAAKALA NATIONAL PARK AT OHEAO GULCH NEAR KIPAHULU, HAWAII. THE PILOT INITIATED THE EMERGENCY PROCEDURE AS A RESULT OF AN INIDICATION OF LOW ENGINE OIL PRESSURE. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT OR INJURY TO THE PASSENGERS AS A RESULT OF THE ACTION TAKEN. INSPECTION COMPLETED BY MAINTENANCE FOUND THAT THE LOSS OF OIL PRESSURE WAS CAUSED BY FAILURE OF THE REAR BEARING OF THE ENGINE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
