## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-5)ON OCTOBER 10, 1998, AT 1100 CDT, N23600, AN AIR TRACTOR 301, REEGISTERED TO AND OPERATED BY MYHAND AIRCRAFT INC., OF PINE BLUFF, ARKANSAS, AND FLOWN BY CHRISTOPHER PAUL VANHOUTEN OF SUTTGART ARKANSAS RECEIVED MINOR DAMAGE DURING A FORCED LANDING FOLLOWING LOSS OF ENGINE POWER. THE AIRCRAFT WAS ON A TITLE 14 PART 137 AERIAL APPLICATION FLIGHT. THE PILOT STATED THAT HE HAD BEEN SPRAYING COTTON DEFOLIATION AND WAS ON HIS WAS BACK TO SHERRILL TO RELOAD WHEN THE ENGINE QUIT. HE SAID HE HAD TO STRETCH HIS GLIDE TO CLEAR SOME POWER LINES AND LANDED HARD IN A WEED PATCH. THE LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR SEPERATED AT THE FUSELAGE ATTACH POINT. THE LEFT WING LEADING EDGE AND THE PROPELLER WERE DAMAGED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND NO FIRE. THE CAUSE OF POWER LOSS IS STILL UNDER INVESTIGATION.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
