## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-5)THE NOSE GEAR WOULD NOT DEPLOY DUE TO THE NOSE GEAR DOORS CATCHING ON THE INSIDE LIP OF THE WHEEL WELL AND PREVENTING THE GEAR FROM FULLEY EXTENDING. THE INSPECTION OF THE GEAR AND WHEEL WELL AREA, REVEALED THAT THE NOSE GEAR BUMPER THAT IS LOCATED AT THE TOP OF THE WHEEL WELL WHICH DETERMINES THE NOSE GEAR RETRACTION HEIGHT WAS WORN BEYOND LIMITS. THIS CONDITION WOULD ALLOW THE NOSE GEAR TO RETRACT HIGHER AND FURTHER INSIDE THE WHEEL WELL CAVITY THAN NORMALLY. FURTHERMORE, SINCE THE NOSE GEAR DOORS ARE CLOSED BY THE NOSE GEAR PULLING ON MECHANICAL STRICKER BAR, THE DOORS WOULD DRAW INWARD AS THE BUMPER WEARS.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
