## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 10/26/98, A FAIRCHILD AIRCRAFT XA-SHD, MODEL SA-227-BC, OPERATED BY SER VICIOS AEREOS LITORAL, AN APPROVED (FAA PART 129) FOREIGN AIR CARRIER, CONTACTED A FENCE POST. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO THE OUTBOARD SECTION OF THE LEFT WING. THE INCIDENT OCCURRED WHILE THE AIRCRAFT WAS BEING REPOSITIONED BY THE CREW FROM THE CUSTOMS AREA TO THE MAIN TERMINAL. THERE WERE NO INJURIES INVOLVED. THE AIRCRAFT WAS BEING TAXIED BY THE CREW AFTER THE PASSENGERS HAD DEPLANED TO CLEAR CUSTOMS. ON SITE INVESTIGATION OF THE INCIDENT REVELED A LACK OF RAMP MARKINGS IN FRONT OF THE CUSTOMS BUILDING. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
