## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-5)WHILE ON A REVENUE FLIGHT FROM PEORIA, IL (PIA), TO ST. LOUIS, MO (STL), DURING THE CLIMB THE COCKPIT CREW WAS NOTIFIED OF A FIRE IN THE CABIN AT SEAT 4D. THE FLIGHT ATTENDANT OBSERVED FIRE AND SMOKE FROM THE READING LIGHT. THE ATTENDANT PULLED DOWN THE PANEL AND BLEW OUT THE FIRE. THE AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO PIA. THE CREW DID NOT DECLARE AN EMERGENCY AND MADE A UNEVENTFUL LANDING. TH 46 PASSENGERS AND 3 CREW WERE DEPLANED WITH OUT INCIDENT OR INJURY. FIRE FIGHTERS CHECKED THE CABIN AND FOUND NO EXISTING FIRE. THIS INCIDENT IS CLOSED WITH THIS REPORT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
