## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR JASON LLOYD WAS CONDUCTING A COMPLEX ARICRAFT CHECKOUT IN THE SINGLE ENGINE BEECHCRAFT EQUIPPED WITH A SINGLE YOKE ON THE LEFT SIDE. THE PERSON RECEIVING THE CHECK WAS PRIVATE PILOT RANDY COOKMAN. THEY FLEW FROM NORTH LAS VEGAS TO MESQUITE, NV, AN UNCONTROLLED FIELD, TO DO TOUCH-AND-GO LANDINGS IN THE PATTERN THERE. ON THE THIRD TOUCHDOWN,THE STUDENT RAISED THE LANDING GEAR SWITCH BEFORE WEIGHT WAS ON THE WHEELS. THE STUDENT COMMENTED THAT HE FELT HURRIED AS THE FIELD LOOKED SHORT TO HIM. THE FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR WAS MAKING A RADIO CALL, REACHED FOR THE SWITCH TO PUT IT DOWN, BUT THE GEAR WAS ALREADY IN THE UP CYCLE AND RETRACTED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
