## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-5)ON NOVEMBER 26, 1998, AT 1500 CENTRAL DAYLIGHT TIME (CDT), A MOONEY M10, N9537V, OPERATED BY A PRIVATE PILOT, SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE DURING AN INFLIGHT FIRE, JUST AFTER TAKEOFF. THE INSTRUMENT LIGHT RHEOSTAT, LOCATED ON THE OVERHEAD PANEL, STARTED ON FIRE. VISUAL METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS PREVAILED AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. THE TITLE 14 CFR PART 91 FLIGHT WAS NOT OPERATING ON A FLIGHT PLAN. THE PILOT REPORTED NO INJURIES. THE FLIGHT ORIGINATED AT FARGO, NORTH DAKOTA, AT 1500 CDT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
