## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-5)DURING CRUISE FLIGHT THE OIL PRESSURE INDICATOR DROPPED TO ZERO. SHORTLY AFTER, THE ENGINE EXPERIENCED A SUBSTANTIAL POWER LOSS. A SUCCESSFUL OFF AIRPORT LANDING WAS MADE ON JETTY ISLAND, WITH NO DAMAGE TO AIRCRAFT. DURING POST ACCIDENT INSPECTION OF THE AIRCRAFT, THE OIL SCAVENGE SCREEN WAS FOUND CLOGGED WITH PAPER TOWEL MATERIAL. SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF PAPER TOWEL MATERIAL WERE OBSERVED IN THE OIL AS IT WAS DRAINED FROM THE OIL SUMP. MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL VERIFIED THAT AD 98-02-08 HAD BEEN COMPLIED WITH 0.4 FLIGHT HOURS PREVIOUS, AT WHICH TIME TWO PAPER TOWELS HAD BEEN LEFT INSIDE THE ENGINE CRANKSHAFT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
