## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 11/27/98 AT 1100L, A PIPER PA-28R-200, N1022X, LANDED ON RUNWAY 28 AT THE BATAVIA AIRPORT, BATAVIA, NY WITH LANDING GEAR UP. THE PILOT, ALLAN KROPF, STATED HE WAS IN CONVERSATION WITH TWO POTENTIAL STUDENTS FLYING AS PASSENGERS AND FORGOT TO EXTEND THE LANDING GEAR. PILOT ALSO STATED THAT HE NEVER HEARD THE LANDING GEAR WARNING HORN. AIRCRAFT WAS TAKEN TO THE HANGAR AFTER REMOVAL FROM THE RUNWAY. LANDING GEAR WAS CHECKED AND FOUND TO WORK NORMALLY; HORN WAS NOT HEARD. THIS INCIDENT IS CONSIDERED CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
