## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-5)ON 11-29-98, FRANK PIJUAN, FLYING HIS OWN AIRCRAFT, A MAULE N56623, EXPERIENCED A ROUGH RUNNING ENGINE NEAR THE MOUTH OF THE BIG SUSITNA RIVER AND DECIDED TO MAKE A PRECAUTIONARY LANDING ON A GRAVEL BAR. ON ROLL-OUT, THE AIRCRAFT'S WHEELS WENT INTO A SMALL DEPRESSION, WHERE THE PROPELLER STRUCK THE GROUND AND WAS BENT. NO INJUIRES OCCURED. THE ONLY DAMAGE THAT OCCURED WAS TO THE PROPELLER. THIS INCIDENT HAD BEEN ASSIGNED THE NUMBER IAL39112901. I TALKED WITH FRANK PIJUAN ABOUT MAKING OFF AIRPORT LANDINGS. NO OTHER CORRECTIVE ACTION IS PLANNED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
