## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23)ON LANDING AT CONCORD, CALIFORNIA AIRPORT THE AIRCRAFT STRUCK A LARGE BIRD (CRANE). THIS BIRD WAS ON THE RUNWAY AND COULD NOT BE AVOIDED. IT WAS DARK, THE LANDING TAXI LIGHT WAS ON AND THE PILOT KNEW OF THE AIRPORT FACILITY DIRECTORY WARNING NOTING DENSE BIRDS ESPECIALLY NOVEMBER THROUGH MARCH. THE RIGHT WHEEL STRUT COVER WAS DENTED. THE DENT WAS WORKED OUT AND AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO SERVICE. NO OTHER DAMAGE WAS NOTED BY INTERVIEW.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
