## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AIRCRAFT WAS VISUALLY INSPECTED, AND BASED ON INSPECTION AND PILOT NARRATIVE, AIRCRAFT BOUNCED UPON A HARD LANDING AND ON THE SECOND LANDING, NOSE GEAR COLLAPSED AND ATTACHING STRUCTURE SUFFERED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE. UPON NOSE COLLAPSE, PROPELLERS TOUCHED GROUND WITH POWER.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB MIA99LA062](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/MIA99LA062), Dec 11, 1998: Beech C-45G (N555NJ), Charlotte Amali, substantial damage. Probable cause: The inadequate flare by the pilot-in-command resulting in a hard landing on the nose landing gear causing it to collapse.

## Other reports on N555NJ (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19980602020439I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19980602020439I), Jun 2, 1998: Beech C45G (N555NJ), Ft Lauderdale, FL, Minor damage. Did not follow checklist procedures prior to landing resulting in a gear up landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
