## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23)N924HA BEGAN TO TAXI FROM THE CRW GATE AREA, WHERE IT HAD BEEN PARKED OVERNIGHT, AND HAD TWO (2) US AIRWAYS RAMP PERSONNEL MARSHALING THE AIRCRAFT. THE MARSHALER ON THE LEFT WING MISJUDGED THE DISTANCE BETWEEN THE WING TIP OF N924HA AND THE RUDDER OF N816MA, WHICH WAS PARKED AND UNOCCUPIED. THE LEFT WING MARSHALER SIGNALED THE PIC ON N924HA TO STOP, BUT THE SIGNAL CAME TOO LATE AND THE WINGTIP AND RUDDER MADE CONTACT. THE DAMAGE ON N924HA WAS CONFIED TO SCRATCHED PAINT AND A BROKEN STATIC WICK. N816MA SUFFERED A SMALL BEND IN THE TRAILING EDGE OF THE RUDDER. BOTH AIRCRAFT WERE INSPECTED BY MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL AND DEEMED AIRWORTHY. THE LEFT WING RAMP MARSHALER WAS SENT FOR DRUG/ALCOHOL SCREENING, WITH RESULTS BEING NEGATIVE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
