## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-5)ON FRIDAY, DECEMBER 18, 1998, AT 1638 LOCAL, A BRITISH AEROSPACE J4101, OPERATED BY TRANS STATES AIRLINES, D/B/A TRANS WORLD EXPRESS, DIVERTED TO BINGHAMTON REGIONAL AIRPORT, DUE TO RPM FLUCTUATION ON THE RIGHT ENGINE. MAINTENACE PERSONNEL REPLACED THE RIGHT ENGINE MONOPOLE, P/N 3105586-3 AND THE AIRCRAFT WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE. THIS INCIDENT IS CONSIDERED CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
