(-5)ON 12/19/98 @1917 MLCL, FLIGHT 1136, A BIG SKY AIRLINES INC., SA-227-AC AIRCRAFT EXPERIENCED ERRONEOUS READINGS ON THE VERTICAL SPEED INDICATOR. THE AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO BILLINGS, MONTANA, WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT.  TROUBLE SHOOTING REVEALED A FAULTY INDICATOR.
