(-5) PILOT HEARD THE LEFT ENGINE PROPELLER STRIKING AN OBJECT DURING ENGINE START. PILOT SHUT DOWN THE ENGINE. HE DISCOVERED THAT A BAGGAGE CART HAD ROLLED ON THE ICE COVERED RAMP, AND HAD STOPPED UNDER THE AIRCRAFT WING IN THE PATH OF THE PROPELLER. PILOT INSPECTED PROPELLER AND OBSERVED THERE WERE NICKS IN THE LEADING EDGE OF THE PROPELLER. PILOT THEN DEPARTED ON A PAASENGER CARRYING FAR 135 COMMUTER FLIGHT. AFTER LANDING, FURTHER INSPECTION SHOWED THAT ONE PROPELLER BLADE WAS SLIGHTLY TWISTED. AIRCRAFT WAS DETERMINED TO BE UNAIRWORTHY AND WAS GROUNDED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
