## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-5)I SPOKE WITH THE PILOT AND HE STATED THAT WHILE FLYING THE ILS INTO RDD, HE HAD BOTH NAVIGATIONAL EQUIPEMNT TUNED TO THE LOCOLIZER FREQUENCY. THE WEATHER WAS DOWN TO MINMUMS, APPROXIMATLEY 200 FEET OVERCAST AND 1/2 MILE VISIBILITY. DURING THE APPROACH, HE DID NOT NOTICED ANYTHING UNUSUAL AND THE GLIDE SLOPE AND LOCOLIZER WERE CLOSE TO BEING CENTERED. WHEN HE ARRIVED AT DECISION HEIGHT, HE DID NOT SEE THE RUNWAY AND HE INITIATED A GO AROUND. HE THEN HEARD A LOUD NOISE. HE RETURNED AND FLEW THE ILS A SECOND TIME AND LANDED NORMALLY. AN INSPECTION OF THE AIRCRAFT REVEALED THAT HE HIT A TREE LOCATED S/W OF THE RUNWAY.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
