## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-5) WHILE IN THE TRAFFIC PATTERN ON DOWNWIND LEG FOR RUNWAY 9 AT TUSCOLA AIRPORT, TUSCOLA, IL, THE AIRCRAFT ENGINE SUFFERED A POWER LOSS. THE PILOT-IN-COMMAND, THE SOLE OCCUPANT, ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE ENGINE BY SELECTING ANOTHER FUEL TANK AND TURNING ON THE ELECTRIC BOOST PUMP, TO NO AVAIL. THE PILOT MADE AN OFF AIRPORT LANDING COMING TO REST APPROXIMATELY 300 FEET SHORT OF THE RUNWAY OF INTENDED LANDING. NO DAMAGE OCCURRED TO THE AIRCRAFT OR PROPERTY. THE AIRCRAFT MAIN FUEL TANKS WERE FILLED PRIOR TO THE FLIGHT. THE PILOT STATED HE THOUGHT HE SMELLED FUEL JUST PRIOR TO THE ENGINE LOSS.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
