## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PRIOR TO LANDING TO TOA, THE PILOT ATTEMPTED SEVERAL TIMES TO LOWER THE LANDING GEAR AND WAS UNABLE TO GET THE RH MAIN GEAR TO EXTEND. HE ELECTED TO LAND ON THE GRASS ADJACENT TO RUNWAY 29R. THERE WAS MINOR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT CONSISTING OF PROPELLER, RH AND NOSE GEAR DOORS. FURTHER INVESTIGATING BY MECHANIC, TOM MCCRAE DISCOVERED THAT THE RH MAIN GEAR ACTUATOR, SINCRO DEVISES, SFA 252-3 WAS SEVERELY CORRODED, RESULTING IN THE RH MAIN GEAR'S FAILTURE TO EXTEND. MR. MCCREA SUBMITTED AN M OR D FOR THE ACTUATOR.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
