## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON MARCH 11, 1999, AT 1821 CENTRAL STANDARD TIME, A CESSNA, MODEL CE-310-P, N5817M, OPERATED BY AIR CARRIER'S, INC. (DKBA), EXPERIENCED AN UNSAFE NOSE GEAR INDICATION DURING APPROACH TO RUNWAY 05 AT SHREVEPORT REGIONAL AIRPORT (SHV) SHREVEPORT, LOUISIANA. THE COMMERCIALLY RATED PILOT DECLARED AN EMERGENCY AND SECURED BOTH ENGINES PRIOR TO TOUCHDOWN. THE NOSE OF THE AIRCRAFT CONTACTED THE RUNWAY, AS DID THE PRO TIP. SUBSEQUENT INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT CONTROL ROD, CESSNA PART NUMBER 0840125-3, HAD BROKEN. VISUAL METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS PREVAILED AT THE TIME AND THE PILOT WAS IN CONTACT WITH AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL AT THE SHREVEPORT TOWER. THE COMMERCIALLY RATED PILOT WAS NOT INJURED. THE AIRCRAFT SUFERED MINOR DAMAGE. THE FLIGHT ORIGINATED AT TYLER POUNDS FIELD (TYR), TEXAS, ON MARCH 11, 1999.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
