## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-5) ON 3-15-1999 AT APPROXIMATELY 0710, SOUTHWEST AIRLINES FLIGHT 212 A BOEING 737-300, ABORTED ITS TAKE-OFF. THIS WAS DUE TO A THROTTLE SPLIT AND NUMBER 1 ENGINE N1 INDICATING IN THE RED ZONE. SOUTHWEST AIRLINES CONTACTED CONTRACT AVIATION MAINTENANCE (CAM) TO PROVIDE MAINTENANCE ASSISTANCE. CAM INSPECTED THE PT-2 SENSORS FOR ICE AND DEBRIS. NONE WAS NOTED. THE SENSOR WAS WIPED OFF AS A PRECAUTION. CAM THEN PROCEEDED TO DO AN ENGINE RUN AND RECORDED ALL FINDINGS. THE ORIGINAL FAULT COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE ENGINE PARAMETERS WERE DOCUMENTED ON SAM-625 FORM, AND THE RECORDED PARAMETERS WERE EVALUATED BY SOUTHWEST ENGINEERING. THE PARAMETERS WERE DETERMINED TO BE WITHIN NORMAL OPERATING CONDITIONS. THE AIRCRAFT WAS DISPATCHED WITHOUT FURTHER DELAY. INCIDENT #CE99IAC0038 IS CONSIDERED CLOSED WITH THE FILING OF THIS REPORT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
