THE CREW DECLARED AN EMERGENCY, BY THE TIME THE AIRCRAFT REACHED THE FINAL DESCENT POINT THE SMOKE HAD CLEARED. AFTER THE AIRCRAFT WAS ON THE GROUND THE EMERGENCY WAS RESCINDED BY THE CREW WITH ATC. AFTER REVIEW OF THE AFFECTED PART IT APPEARS THAT THE PART FAILED AT AN ELECTRICAL CONTACT POINT FOR THE LIGHT FIXTURE, CAUSING THE PART TO OVERHEAT. THIS RESULTED IN THE VISIBLE SMOKE IN THE CABIN. THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION IS FOR THE AFFECTED PART: PAGE AEROSPACE LIMITED, LAMP FIXTURE, PART NUMBER 0756-02-011, SERIAL NUMBER 06-96, HUNTING PART NO 6500006.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
