## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ACFT TOOK OFF, STALLED, THE LANDING GEAR STRUCK THE RWY, AND THE ACFT FLIPPED OVER. (FROM .4) DURING THE TURN FOR A DOWNWIND DEPARTURE FROM THE PRIVATE TURF AIRSTRIP, THE AGRICULTURAL AIRPLANE STALLED AND IMPACTED THE TERRAIN. WINDS WERE FROM THE NORTH AT 10 TO 12 KNOTS. (-23)THIS PILOT HAD RECENTLY COMPLETED AN AERIAL APPLICATION SCHOOL AND HAD SECURED HIS FIRST FLYING JOB WITH DEEP SOUTH FLYING SERVICES, JENNINGS, LA. ON THE MORNING OF MARCH 3, 1999, N6758Q, DEPARTED TO THE NORTH LOADED WITH FERTILIZER AND TURNED TO A SOUTHERLY HEADING (DOWNWIND) AT 300 FEET. THE AIRCRAFT SETTLED, HIT THE GROUND AND CAME TO REST INVERTED. GROUND IMPACT DESTROYED THE AIRCRAFT; THERE WAS NO FIRE, AND THE PILOT WAS NOT INJURED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB FTW99LA101](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/FTW99LA101), Mar 26, 1999: Grumman G-164B (N6758Q), Jennings, LA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's inadvertent stall during the departure turn to downwind. A factor was the tailwind.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
