## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AT THE TIME OF LANDING, THE RUNWAY HAD ONLY BEEN PARTIALLY PLOWED. SNOW BERMS WERE PRESENT FIFTY (50) FEET FROM EITHER SIDE OF THE RUNWAY CENTERLINE FOR THE ENTIRE RUNWAY LENGTH MAKING THE AVAILABLE WIDTH FOR LANDING ONLY 100 FEE. PRIOR TO TOUCHDOWN THE CREW WSA UNAWARE OF THE PRESENCE OF THE BERMS. APPROXIMATELY 30 SECONDS PRIOR TO BIG SKY FLIGHT 1137 TOUCHING DOWN ON RUNWAY 10L, AN AIRPORT OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR CONTACTED BILLINGS GROUND CONTROL VIA RADIO, ABOUT THE PRESENCE OF THE SNOW BERMS. THEY (ATC) WERE UNABLE TO PROCESS AND TRANSMIT THIS INFORMATION TO FLIGHT 137 PRIOR TO TOUCHDOWN. AFTER TOUCHDOWN ON THE SNOW AND ICE COVERED RUNWAY, THE PILOT-FLYING (SIC) WAS UNABLE TO PREVENT THE AIRCRAFT FROM SLIDING TO THE LEFT OF CENTERLINE. THE PIC ASSUMED CONTROL BUT WAS UNABLE TO RE-DIRECT IT BACK TO THE CENTER OF THE RUNWAY BEFORE STRIKING THE LEFT SNOW BERM WITH THE LEFT PROPELLER. THE AIRCRAFT WAS TAXIED OFF THE RUNWAY UNDER ITS OWN POWER. THE LEFT PROPELLER WAS DAMAGED. AN ENGINE TEARDOWN INSPECTION IS CURRENTLY UNDERWAY.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
