## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ACFT LANDED LONG, RAN OFF THE END OF THE RWY, AND FLIPPED OVER. (-23)DURING LANDING ON AN UNFAMILIAR RUNWAY THE PILOT TOUCHED DOWN LONG. BECAUSE OF THE UPHILL SLOPE IN THE RUNWAY, THE AIRCRAFT WAS UNABLE TO ACCELERATE TO A SAFE AIRSPEED FOR A GO-AROUND. IT IMPACTED AN EMBANKMENT OFF THE END OF THE RUNWAY AND TURNED OVER ON ITS BACK. THE AIRCRAFT WAS SUBSTANTIALLY DAMAGED. NEITHER PILOT WAS INJURED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ATL99LA073](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ATL99LA073), Apr 19, 1999: Cessna 140A (N9462A), Dallas, GA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's selection of unsuitable terrain/landing area for a short field landing, and his delay in executing a go-around.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
