## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DEPARTED SYRACUSE, NY IN A.M., STOPPED AT OSWEGO, N.Y. FOR FUEL ENROUTE TO FLORIDA. WHILE CRUISING AT 4500 FEET, THE ENGINE BEGAN TO RUN ROUGH AND LOSE POWER. PILOT SWITCHED FUEL SELECTOR AND TURNED ON CARBURETOR HEAT. ADJUSTED THE MIXTURE TO RICH. ENGINE DID NOT REGAIN POWER AND PILOT MADE AN EMERGENCY LANDING ON DIRT ROAD. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE. PIC NOT INJURED. UPON AIRCRAFT INSPECTION, IT WAS NOTED THAT #2 ROCKER ARM FAILED. THIS INCIDENT IS CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
