## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT ENGINE QUIT AFTER PILOT PERFORMED AEROBATIC MANEUVERS. AIRCRAFT WAS UNABLE TO GLIDE TO NEW AIRPORT AND LANDED IN LAKE PONCHATRAIN. PILOT WAS UNINJURED. AIRCRAFT RECOVERED. UPON EXAMINATION IT WAS DETERMINED THAT FUEL GASCOLATOR VALVE WAS ALLOWING AIR INTO FUEL SYSTEM. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ THIS WAS ORIGINALLY DEEMED TO BE AN ACCIDENT AND WAS ASSIGNED ACCIDENT NUMBER FTW99LA120. WITH AGREEMENT FROM NICOLE LUPINO, THIS WAS DOWNGRADED TO AN INCIDENT ON 5/5/99.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
