## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON TAKEOFF OUT OF LIT DURING AN INSTRUCTIONAL FLIGHT, AT 200 FEET AGL THE ELEVATOR DOWN CABLE CAME INTO CONTACT WITH THE ELECTRICAL CONDUCTOR IN ELETRICAL CABLE H64B6, WHICH RUNS BETWEEN THE NORMAL ELETRIC HEAT RELAY AND THE NORMAL HEAT 200A CURRENT LIMITER. (THESE ITEMS ARE LOCATED IN THE SUBFLOOR UNDER THE CAPTAIN'S SEAT). A CHAFING CONDITION HAD EXISTED BETWEEN THE ELEVATOR DOWN CABLE AND AND ELECTRICAL CABLE H64B6 FOR AN UNDETERMINATE PERIOD OF TIME. ENOUGH ELECTRICAL CURRENT WAS DELIVERED TO THE FLIGHT CONTROL CABLE TO CUT IT. THE AIRCRAFT LOST ELEVATOR RESPONSE. THE INSTRUCTOR PILOT TOOK COMMAND OF THE AIRCRAFT AND ACCOMPLISHED AND UNEVENTFUL LANDING UTILIZING ELEVATOR TRIM FOR PITCH CONTROL. INFORMED STEVE POTTER/ICT ACO, HECTOR CASANOVA/FTW NTSB, ASW-250, FRANK HILLDRUP NTSB/WASHINGTON. M OR D SUBMITTED BY CENTRAL FLYING SERVICE INC. (HBKA)

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
