## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON APRIL 24 MR. STEVEN DESRUISSEAUX WAS FLYING HIS RECENTLY COMPLETED "SEAREY" AMPHIBIOUS EXPERIRMENTAL AIRPLANE OPERATION UNDER 14 CFR 91. ON THE SECOND WATER LANDING OF THE DAY HIS APPROACH WAS TOO FAST AND ON TOUCH DOWN, HE GAVE SOME FORWARD STICK WHICH CAUSED THE NOSE TO DIVE IN THE WATER. CORRECTIONS WERE NOT GIVEN QUICK ENOUGH AND THE AIRCRAFT FLIPPED AND SANK. THE AIRCRAFT WAS RECOVERED WITH A BROKEN WINDSHIELD AND SIDEGLASS. ADDITIONALLY THERE WAS SKIN DAMAGE TO THE LOWER PORTION OF THE BOW, AND THE WING FABRIC WAS CUT TO DRAIN WAER FOR RECOVERY.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
