## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON TUESDAY, APRIL 27, 1999, N59235, A CESSNA 210-T210L WAS DESCENDING FROM 10,500 MSL ON A FLIGHT FROM ALAMOGORDO, NM TO ALBUQUERQUE, NM. (ABQ), WHEN THE ENGINE FAILED PASSING THROUGH 9,000 MSL. THE COMMERCIAL PILOT ESTABLISHED A GLIDE AND PERFORMED EMERGENCY PROCEDURES RESULTING IN A SUCCESSFUL ENGINE RESTART. THE ACFT LANDED SAFELY IN ABQ. MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL TESTED AND TROUBLE SHOT THE ENGINE AND FUEL SYSTEM OVER A THREE DAY PERIOD. HOWEVER, NOTHING WAS REVEALED TO EXPLAIN THE ENGINE STOPPAGE. THE PROBLEM COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED DURING ENGINE RUN UPS ON THE GROUND. A MAINTENANCE FLIGHT WAS ATTEMPTED THE FOLLOWING FRIDAY, APRIL 30, 1999, DURING WHICH THE ENGINE BEGAN SUFFERED PARTIAL FAILURE THAT RENDERED THE ACFT UNABLE TO MAINTAIN ALTITUDE. THE FOLLOWING EMERGENCY LANDING ENDED IN AN ACCIDENT. THE TEST PILOT AND MECHANIC SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES, BUT THE ACFT WAS SUBSTANTIALLY DAMAGED. THE ACCIDENT IS UNDER INVESTIGATION BY THE NTSB WITH THE ASSISTANCE OF THE ABQ FSDO. FILE CLOSED.
