## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON APRIL 29, 1999 A CESSNA, N4275L, S/N 17254344, PILOTED BY JOHN FERRANTE EXPERIENCED GUSTY WIND WHEN LANDING IN CORTLAND, NY AIRPORT (N03), ON RUNWAY 6. THIS CAUSED THE AIRCRAFT TO HEAD OFF TO THE RIHT OF THE RUNWAY AND SHEAR OFF THE NOSE GEAR ASSEMBLY, WHICH CAUSED THE ENGINE TO HAVE SUDDEN STOPPAGE. MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL INSPECTED THE AIRCRAFT AND NOTED THE FOLLOWING DISCREPANCIES: THE PROPELLER BLADES DAMAGED, ENGINE REQUIRES SUDDEN STOPPAGE INSPECTION, NOSE GEAR REQUIRES REPLACEMENT, AND AFT OF NOSE GEAR THE FUSELAGE BELLY IS DAMAGED. VISUAL METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS PREVAILED AT THE TIME AND AN IFR FLIGHT WAS NOT FILED. THE AIRCRAFT WAS DAMAGED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES AT THE TIME. THE FLIGHT ORIGINATED AT THE CORTLAND AIRPORT (N03) ON APRIL 29, 1999. THIS INCIDENT IS CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
