## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON THE TAKE-OFF FROM RUNWAY 12, WITH A WIND FROM THE RIGHT, THE PILOT APPLIED THE RIGHT RUDDER FOR WIND. THE PILOT NOTICED THAT HE WAS DRIFTING LEFT AND THE TAIL RAISED. THE PILOT CONTINUED DRIFTING LEFT AND ABORTED THE TAKE-OFF. THE PROPELLER STRUCK THE GROUND BECAUSE THE TAIL WAS LIFTED BY WHAT THE PILOT THOUGHT WAS A WIND CHANGE-A WIND FROM THE REAR. THIS INSPECTOR HAS DISCUSSED THIS INCIDENT WITH THE STUDENT AND HIS INSTRUCTOR ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
