## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON MAY 20, 1999, APPROX. 1000 MDT, A CESSNA 150 VEERED OFF THE RUNWAY AT THE BULH, ID. AIRPORT. THE PILOT^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^WAS THE SOLE OCCUPANT OF THE A/C. THE PILOT WAS PRACTICING TAKEOFFS AND LANDINGS DURING GUSTY WIND CONDITIONS. AS THE PILOT WAS MAKING HIS SECOND LANDING HE "FLARED" PREMATURELY (TOO HIGH) CAUSING A VERY HARD LANDING AND LOSS OF CONTROL. THE A/C VEERED OFF THE RUNWAY AND SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE NOSE GEAR AND FIREWALL.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB SEA99LA175](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/SEA99LA175), May 20, 1999: Cessna 150M (N3834V), Buhl, ID, substantial damage. Probable cause: An inadequate recovery from a bounced landing. Gusting wind conditions were a factor.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
